Life-abetes™ was designed to assist individuals, organizations, healthcare providers and
companies through training by example.Prior to founding Life-abetes™; Jaynie was also the
developer, owner and administrator of "Sweet Seniors Guest House"; a licensed senior citizens
facility. As well, a former Mrs. Maine America who's platform was Senior and Diabetes
awareness which both she holds an incredible passion for even today.
Jaynie's wellness career is that of many hats! As a health and wellness consultant, certified
fitness trainer, certified recreational & activities coordinator/director in Gerontology, a life coach,
motivational speaker and author of the "Ultimate Diabetes Meal Planner". The "Ultimate
Diabetes Meal Planner" is a complete system for eating healthy in four easy steps..........
This eight plus year endeavor with her co-author David Groetzinger was so worth the years
invested for the reviews and testimonials of affirmation have exceeded their expectations!
Jaynie's career choice amplifies one can live a wonderfully hectic lifestyle even with an
incurable disease and prove that\her personal obstacle living with diabetes brought rewarding
opportunities both personally and professionally. "Jaynie stated"; who knows whether her career
path may have taken a totally different path had she been diabetes free....
From obstacle to opportunity, a positive mindful practice and the heart to help others brings us
together today.
Jaynie consults for many individuals, corporate wellness programs, health care facilities and etc.
- addressing topics from exercise, nutrition, diabetes, senior wellness & program development,
school assemblies, in-services, workshops and oodles of extra's; barely touch the endless
mission, glowing example and role model.
She has traveled across country, active in community and State of Maine affairs. Jaynie served
on the State of Maine "InforMe" (Information Resource of Maine) board of Director's for nearly
10 years and has ambitious plans to present and direct her "Healthy Me America" school
lunch pilot - curriculum to the President of the United State and First Lady.......
Her whimsical side is beyond the norm........

To share one example - As a fund-raising initiative; Jaynie and team built the world's largest
Epsicle (original formula two stick) popsicle which weighed in at 17,450 pounds - still holding the
Guinness World Record and featured in Florida's"Ripley's Believe It or Not" and graced the
pages of numerous AP releases as well as "Stars & Stripes" in Europe.
Personal future initiative is to create and open "Kamp Culinary Kids"; a juvenile cooking summer
school especially designed for JD children.
About the Author
“I began a career in Gerontology as a developer, owner and administrator of a licensed assisted living
facility.
During the developmental process I realized the importance of being able to offer my residents
healthy and appealing meals. I met David Groetzinger, an expert in dietary regulations and requirements
for
geriatric health care facilities, and we were able to create a nutritious and tasty menu for my residents.
This led me to writing meal plans for individuals seeking a
healthy life style and eventually to writing this book with David.
During this time my personal exercise regimen became tedious and burdensome.After a tearful five mile
run
I decided it was time for a change.I purchased my first fitness magazine and began a self taught
free weights program.After several months of strength training I had decreased my daily run from six
times
weekly to two or three times a week.People began commenting on my physical changes and were very
interested in my program.Since the rural area where I lived did not have any training facilities,
people began asking if they could work out with me.The need was evident and I began working on
opening a fitness studio, obtaining further education and becoming certified in exercise science.
The requests for meal plans were numerous.I began spending countless hours writing meal plans in an
attempt to help my clients make real life style changes.Consequently my "Fit Formula Rx" was created
and I had clients from varied life styles calling for appointments.
Interestingly, my program was designed for the fitness industry with the content being based around
what worked for me and the American Diabetes Association’s ABC(A referring to A1C, B referring to
blood pressure,C referring to cholesterol) message.Since diet and exercise have proven to be necessary
components in successful diabetes management, I suggest we now offer an ABCDE (with D referring to
diet, E referring to exercise) message for people with diabetes.
The diabetes meal plan focuses on consuming whole grains-complex carbohydrates, lean
proteins,vegetables, fruits, low fat and low sodium foods - while avoiding the consumption of refined
sugars.In addition to this
emphasis is placed on portion control and appropriate eating intervals (3 meals, with 2 or 3 snacks daily).
This is an inclusive meal plan that works well for people who want to lose weight or simply wish to be
healthier and live longer.It is a way of eating that can easily be incorporated into the family, meeting the
needs of everyone not just the person with diabetes.
It is the mission of the America Diabetes Association to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the
lives of all people affected by this disease.

major role in one's medical management.”
